中学生のボランティア体験
2019年8月25日、一人の中学生のボランティアの方が、
せいぼの寄付型コーヒーブランドWarm Hearts Coffee Clubの、
コーヒーイベントに参加してくれました！
8月は、学校がお休みで、何かボランティア活動を通じて、
charityの精神を学ぶために、今回せいぼに来てくれました。
日本の社会貢献企業の姿
仕事をすることは、もちろん社会で生きていく上で、
とても大事なことです。
たくさんの利益を出して、会社に貢献することは、
経済全体に好循環を与えます。
しかし、その仕事が人のため、そしてもっと言えば世界のために、
少しでも貢献できるものだったらどうでしょうか。
そんなせいぼの社会貢献企業としての姿を、
レポートにしてまとめてくれました。
日本の現状、教会の姿
日本は今、多くの外国人の方々を迎え、
色々な困難も抱えています。
しかし、そこには多くの出会いがあることも確かです。
カトリックの教会は、そんな場所の一つであり、
中学2年生である彼女は、他国籍の人々の中で、コーヒーの提供を通して、
自らを発信し、人の役に立つことのやりがいを感じてくれました。
人々の持つPersonal Stories
教会では、多くの人々が集まります。
そして、コーヒーを飲みながら、色々な話題が出てきます。
そんな中で、ボランティアの彼女は、体験した出会いをまとめてくれました。
チャリティ精神の芽生え
こうして、人のために自分の時間を使ってみること、
そして具体的に何かを感じてみることは、
将来社会で働く上で、利益を創出することに加え、
もっと深い生きがいや、モチベーションに繋がると思います。
こうした体験が、将来仕事を持続的に、創造的にしていくための、
第一歩になれば幸いです。
On August 25, 2019, one junior high school student volunteered with Seibo Japan and their charity coffee brand, Warm Hearts Coffee Club. She participated in helping serve coffee for the event!
During the month of August, the schools are closed, and it’s time for summer volunteer activities. She decided that this time, she would come to Seibo, to learn about the spirit of charity.
Japanese social enterprise companies
Of course, living in Japanese society, it is very important that you work. You work hard to make a lot profit, and this is expected. It is a duty to help your company and the Japanese economy as a whole.
While that is good and noble, charity and giving to others helps actual, real people and makes a difference in the world. Imagine if you could contribute to that, even just a little bit.
Seibo is a type of company that does both, one that contributes to society and to actual people.
The current situation in Japan and the church
Japan now welcomes many foreigners, and each have their own difficulties and struggles. But there are certainly many places these foreigners can receive help.
The Catholic church is one such place. Many people gathered in the church to drink the coffee and chat with one another. This is where she summarized her thoughts and explained to me what she felt.
As this student offered coffee to many people of other nationalities, all the while she thought to herself “this is worth my time; I like helping other.” She could feel it inside.
The beginnings of a charitable spirit
Spending your time helping other helps you to feel something real. Not only generating profits for your job or for “the benefit of the economy.”
I believe charitable experiences will lead to a deeper life’s purpose and greater motivation. They will make your future career enjoyable and help you continue to feel fulfilled.
Just as our young junior high school student did, I hope that you too will take the first step.
